PS5Emu
for Mac.
The Mac build of the open-source ps5 emulator. Native Apple Silicon binary, Metal 3 renderer, no Rosetta. Runs on M2, M3 and M4 chips. Free playstation 5 emulator download — MIT licensed.
Built natively for Apple Silicon.
The Mac build targets Apple Silicon directly. Where the Windows port talks Vulkan, the Mac port talks Metal 3 to the M-series GPU — no translation layer. Same 624 playable titles as the ps5 emulator for pc; the ps5 emulator ships the library and benchmarks.

| Apple M3 Max | 40 | 36 GB | 82 FPS | Excellent |

| Apple M1 (Intel-era) | 8 | 8 GB | — | Unsupported |
Unified memory is a structural win on Mac. The PS5 itself runs on GDDR6 shared between CPU and GPU — Apple Silicon's unified pool maps almost 1:1 onto that model, so the emulator ps 5 core never pays the host-to-device copy tax that bites discrete GPU builds.
What ships only on the Mac build.
- Native arm64 binary. No Rosetta. Compiled directly for Apple Silicon.
- Metal 3 renderer. MetalFX upscaling for 4K on M3 Pro+.
- Unified memory path. Skips the CPU↔GPU copy — 8–12% throughput win.
- Battery-saver profile. Caps framerate at 30 FPS off-charger.
- DualSense over Bluetooth. macOS pairs DualSense natively — no drivers.
- ProMotion adaptive sync. 60–120 Hz on ProMotion displays.
